What are the key points for replacing new activated carbon in industrial activated carbon box?

Publish Time: 2025-06-16
After long-term use, the activated carbon adsorption capacity of industrial activated carbon box gradually becomes saturated. Replacing new activated carbon is the key operation to maintain its purification effect. Every link in the replacement process cannot be ignored. From preliminary preparation to specific operation, and then to subsequent inspection, each step is closely related. Only by strictly controlling the key points can the activated carbon box be ensured to operate efficiently again.

Before replacing new activated carbon, you need to fully understand the operating status of the equipment. Close the relevant valves of the system where the activated carbon box is located, cut off the connection with other equipment, and make the activated carbon box in a completely independent state to avoid dangerous situations such as gas or liquid leakage during the replacement process. At the same time, carefully check the box structure of the activated carbon box to see if there is any damage, deformation, etc. If the box itself is found to be faulty, it should be repaired first to prevent the new activated carbon from affecting the use effect after being loaded. In addition, it is necessary to prepare the tools and protective equipment required for replacement, such as gloves, masks, shovels, etc., to ensure the safety and health of operators.

It is crucial to choose the right activated carbon. Different industrial scenarios have different requirements for activated carbon, and the corresponding type needs to be selected according to actual needs. If it is used to purify organic waste gas, it is necessary to choose activated carbon with strong adsorption capacity for organic matter; when dealing with odorous gases, it is necessary to pay attention to the deodorization performance of activated carbon. At the same time, the particle size, specific surface area and other characteristics of activated carbon will also affect the adsorption effect. It should be ensured that the various indicators of the new activated carbon meet the equipment operation requirements. When purchasing, it is necessary to choose regular channels and high-quality products to avoid low purification efficiency and shortened replacement cycle due to poor quality of activated carbon.

Be careful when disassembling old activated carbon. Open the lid or inspection port of the activated carbon box and observe the accumulation of activated carbon inside. If there is a hardening phenomenon, it is necessary to loosen it carefully with tools first, and then gradually remove the old activated carbon. During the removal process, it is necessary to prevent the activated carbon powder from flying, and appropriate dust reduction measures can be taken, such as spraying a small amount of water mist. For large activated carbon boxes, mechanical auxiliary equipment can be used for cleaning to improve work efficiency, but attention should be paid to operating specifications to avoid damage to the internal structure of the box. The removed old activated carbon is a hazardous waste and needs to be properly collected, stored and handled in accordance with relevant regulations to prevent environmental pollution.

When loading new activated carbon, a certain method should be followed. Pour the new activated carbon evenly into the activated carbon box to avoid uneven stacking, which will affect the circulation and adsorption effect of gas or liquid. During the filling process, it is necessary to control the filling amount. It should not be too full to cause excessive pressure inside the box, affecting the operation of the equipment, nor too little to greatly reduce the purification effect. After filling, use tools to compact appropriately, but do not use excessive force to prevent the activated carbon from breaking and producing too much powder. At the same time, check whether the supporting structure and distribution plate in the activated carbon box are intact to ensure that the new activated carbon remains stable during operation.

After completing the activated carbon filling, the activated carbon box needs to be sealed. Carefully check the sealing strips on the lid, inspection port and other parts. If there is aging or damage, replace them in time. Install the lid or inspection port back to its original position to ensure that it is tightly sealed to prevent gas or liquid from leaking from the gap and affecting the purification effect. During the sealing process, tighten the bolts or buckles evenly to avoid loose sealing due to uneven force. After the sealing is completed, a simple air tightness check can be carried out by passing a small amount of gas into the activated carbon box to observe whether there is any leakage.

After replacing the new activated carbon, the entire system needs to be debugged and operated. Slowly open the relevant valves to allow the gas or liquid to gradually flow into the activated carbon box, and observe whether the equipment is running smoothly and whether there are any abnormal sounds or vibrations. At the same time, detect the indicators of the purified gas or liquid to determine whether the new activated carbon has achieved the expected adsorption effect. If the purification effect is found to be unsatisfactory, the cause needs to be investigated. It may be uneven filling of activated carbon, loose sealing or quality problems of the activated carbon itself, and targeted adjustments and treatments should be made.

Industrial activated carbon box Replacing new activated carbon is a rigorous work. From preliminary preparation, activated carbon selection, to disassembly, filling, sealing and subsequent debugging, each key point is related to the operation effect and service life of the activated carbon box. Only by strictly following the specifications and paying attention to every detail can the replaced activated carbon box play its purification role again efficiently and meet the environmental protection needs of industrial production.
